EDITORIAL ASSESSMENT

Let us help you assess the level of editing needed for your work. All these different level of editing will make sure to get rid of any spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax errors.

This is an assessment process that evaluates sections of your manuscripts to gauge what type or level of editing could best polish it. It includes a portion of your work (typically the first chapter or about 1,700 words) will be edited to provide you with a sample. We will give you a general assessment of your manuscript and commentary toward improving it.

The assessment will take 2-3 weeks estimated time frame. Depending on the results, the evaluator will recommend the book to either a line editor, content editor, or developmental editor. If you choose to acquire the service instead doing it with another party, we will assign your book to an editorial specialist who will perform a thorough editing process and address issues raised in the Editorial Assessment.

DEVELOPMENTAL EDITING

editor evaluates the manuscript at the paragraph, chapter, and book levels and identifies big-picture
areas that need work.
For fiction works, the editor will analyze the readership and genre to determine whether the
content is appropriate. Then, things such as plot, pace, characterization, and dialogue will
closely examined.
For nonfiction titles, the editor will analyze the possible uses of the work to determine that the
content is complete and appropriate, concepts are developed adequately, and the materials is
well-organized. The editor will make sure that all lists, graphs, and illustrations are used
effectively throughout.
Once big-picture changes have been made, the second step, a free Content Edit, begins. The content
